3rd Street Intersection in Laramie Will Close This Week

WYDOT is closing the intersection of 3rd and Harney streets starting Wednesday, June 14 for several days while crews perform utility work in the area.

Traffic is being detoured onto 4th Street. This is part of the Harney Street Viaduct project that began back in February. It is being coordinated with the city of Laramie.

Resident engineer Steve Cook, who is overseeing the project, said in a release from WYDOT, “We’re relocating and replacing utilities under 3rd Street.”

The Harney Street Viaduct project is on schedule for completion and opening in the fall of 2018. The project has a cost of $23.5 million.

This same intersection has featured a detour to single-lane traffic over the last week on North 3rd Street.
