This newest CD from Montgomery Gentry will be their seventh.  and they're calling it one of the most personal projects of their entire career.

"Rebels on the Run" is set for an early October realease.

"In a lot of ways the past year has been has been nothing but hell," Eddie Montgomery admits.

Well, not too many people are going to argue with THAT assessment.  Eddie battled and eventually beat prostate cancer in 2010.  Not only that, but his marriage to his wife Tracy ended in a tough divorce.

"Man, without T-Roy and my family, this music, our fans and the Man upstairs, I don't know how I would've gotten through it." Montgomery said.

His partner, Troy Gentry, agrees.  "I don't know if we would have made the same album if we hadn't been through everything we've been through in the last year," he notes. "We've always tried to record songs about things we've lived or seen, but the depth of all of those experiences really comes out in this album."

'Rebels on the Run' will be released on a new label.  Montgomery-Gentry previously released six CD's on Columbia Records.  They're hoping Average Joe's Entertainment (their new record company) will be the start of another successful run up the charts.

After all the struggles and heartaches (unfortunately not that unusual for a country band) the boys could use a straight and smooth path for a bit.  Here's hoping that this new venture will get them back on track and back to doing what they love best:  entertaining their fans.

"Rebels on the Run" will hit shelves on October 4. Their first single, 'Where I Come From,' is already working its way through the charts.
