Yikes! Lightning Strikes Man’s Yard During Freak Storm in Scary Amateur Video

Mike Akers was visiting his parents in Queens, NY, when a freak storm swept through the area on Monday night, bringing thunder, lightning and baseball-sized hail.

In this amateur video, which aired on ‘Today,’ Akers filmed from the relative safety of his parents’ porch when, suddenly, lightning struck in the front yard and smashed a tree to pieces.

Homeless Man Jumps White House Fence During Live CNN Broadcast [VIDEO]

On Tuesday, a 41-year-old homeless man scaled the White House fence and was quickly taken into custody by Secret Service.

The incident was captured by a CNN news crew during John King’s live show. The man, who was identified as James Dirk Crudup, can be seen sprawled on the White House lawn as Secret Service move in with rifles drawn.

Stephen Colbert (sort of) defended Michele Bachmann’s now-infamous, accidental comparison to serial killer John Wayne Gacy on Tuesday night’s episode of ‘The Colbert Report.’

Since the gaffe, Bachmann has admitted that she misspoke, but Colbert takes issue with her concession. “What on earth are you apologizing for? All you said is that you have the same spirit as John Wayne Gacy, and I think there is something to that.” Colbert said. “Because like Gacy, people might think you’re a clown. But if they dig a little deeper, they’ll find you are deadly serious.”
