Bandit Run In Laramie
The Bandit Run is coming to Laramie Wednesday night!
The seventh annual run was inspired by the 1977 film 'Smokey and the Bandit.' The rolling tribute and car show was created by Lincoln, Nebraska mechanic Dave Hall. The event begins in Lincoln and travels through Valentine, NE, Rapid City, SD, Laramie, WY, and Golden, CO.
Laramie residents are invited to come enjoy the fun Wednesday night. 75-90 cars including 30 Bandit replicas and 2 police cars will be escorted from the Laramie Police Department between Wyo Tech and the Laramie Holiday Inn. The cars are expected to arrive at the Holiday Inn around 7:30 pm. A block party will follow with Dr. Pepper products and Coors Beer. A screening of 'Smokey and the Bandit' will take place in the hotel's ballroom and a live band will play at 7:30.
The Holiday Inn will also host a look-alike contest in the following categories:
- Burt Reynolds as Bo Darville/Bandit
- Sally Field as Carrie/Frog
- Jerry Reed as Cledus Snow/Snowman
- Jackie Gleason as Sheriff Buford T. Justice/Smokey
- Pat McCormick as Enos Burdette/Big Enos
- Paul Williams as “Little” Enos Burdette
- Fred (Basset Hound)
David Settle and Jerrad Anderson will be broadcasting Sportsline Live from the Holiday Inn beginning at 5 pm on 1290 AM KOWB.
