Bashar Al Assad – He’s a Blake Shelton Fan?

When he's not brutally and deliberately killing his own people, it appears as though ol' Bashar likes nothin' better than kickin' back and enjoying a little bit of country by Blake Shelton.

The Syrian President's private e-mails have reportedly been obtained by The Guardian, a newspaper in The United Kingdon. According the paper, one of the e-mails reveals that he sent his wife God Gave Me You for her ipod.

The Guardian contends that the e-mails were smuggled out of Syria by a member of the opposition.  They also say that there's a good chance some of the e-mails may be fake. However they believe that the vast majority of them are genuine.

I just don't know what to think about that. I guess you can be a blood-thirsty despot, bent on an iron-fist kind of governing style, and still enjoy the lyric:  "God gave me you for the ups and downs".

Crazy weird, right?
