Jason McManamen scored a career-high 25 points, but it wasn’t enough, as the Wyoming Cowboys lost to Boise State, 81-71, Saturday in Laramie.

Boise State (15-5, 6-1) closed the game on a 12-6 run. Wyoming pulled within four on a McManamen lay-up with 3:31 left. The Broncos answered with a Lonnie Jackson 3-pointer, and the Pokes failed to get closer than six the rest of the game.

Wyoming (10-11, 3-5) dropped their second straight Mountain West game. Alan Herndon added a career-high tying 16 points and seven rebounds. The Cowboys shot 52 percent from the floor, but also committed 14 turnovers.

The Broncos had three players in double figures led by Jackson’s 21 points, all of which came on seven 3-pointers. Boise State shot 47 percent from the floor and also went 20-27 at the foul line.

Wyoming played without senior guard Josh Adams, who was suspended one-game by the conference on Friday. Adams’ absence broke a string of 65-straight games with him in uniform for Wyoming.

The Cowboys return to the road at Fresno State on Tuesday at 8 p.m. MT.
