Is it legal for people to have bonfires in their backyards within city limits?

Answer:

"A recreational fire burning materials other than rubbish is allowed. These fires shall be constantly attended by a responsible person until the fire is extinguished. This fire shall not exceed a fuel area of 3 feet or less in diameter and 2 feet or less in height for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking, warmth, or similar purposes. These recreational fires shall not be permitted within 25 feet of a structure or combustible materials. Also, the recently adopted 2015 International Fire Code addresses open burning, recreational fires, and portable outdoor fireplaces in section 307.
