The Laramie Lady Plainsmen basketball program has a new leader. Laramie High School has announced the hiring of Laura Pollard as the new head coach.

Pollard was chosen out of three finalists for the position. Her hiring is subject to approval at the Albany County School Board's next meeting in October.

She has previously coached basketball and volleyball at LHS. She also brings with her 15 years of collegiate coaching experience at the Division II and Division III levels. In addition, Pollard has an administration background.

In a release from LHS, Pollard said,

"I am personally and professionally looking forward to rejoining the Laramie community."

Laramie High School Athletics Director Bruce Schmidt said, "Coach Pollard will bring experience and energy to the girls basketball program."

Pollard replaces Kyle Stucky, whose contract was not renewed in July in a controversial decision.

We'll continue to follow this story as more details come forth.
