KOWB has learned through various sources that Travis Brown has accepted an offer to become the new head boy's basketball coach at Laramie High School.

Brown was one of four candidates interviewed by a search committee last week. An initial offer to a candidate from Cheyenne was turned down. Sources say Brown was brought in to visit with Laramie High School Principal Stacy Bush and Athletics Director Bruce Schmidt for a second interview.

Brown is an assistant professor of Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Wyoming.

He takes over for Ryan Puckett, who resigned after one season last month.

KOWB will have more on this story as it becomes available. Travis Brown has confirmed the information. A press release with further details is expected this afternoon.

Brown's hiring will be subject to approval by the Albany County School District Board of Education.
