UW Athletics Director Tom Burman announced today that Heath Schroyer is no longer the head coach of the University of Wyoming men's basketball team. Burman made the announcement Monday adding that Wyoming's current Associate Head Coach Fred Langley will serve as Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season.

Schroyer made comments in a release from the University:

"Although I am obviously disappointed in the University's decision to terminate my contract, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as head coach at the University of Wyoming...I love our team, and I believe they have a bright future on and off the court." -Heath Schroyer

The release also said Schroyer's terminated contract would have expired after the 2013-2014 season. Under that contract UW will pay Schroyer $160,000 a year for the remaining three years, but no state funds will be used pay off the balance.
