A Cheyenne man is facing up to 10 years in prison after allegedly threatening to kill his dad's friend with a knife.

Twenty-five-year-old William Travelstead, Jr. was charged with aggravated assault and battery as well as four counts of property destruction during his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court this (Tuesday) morning.

According to court documents, Laramie County Sheriff's Deputy Aaron Scott was called to 712 West College Drive #8 around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, after Travelstead tried to stab Frank Trujillo in the stomach.

Travelstead told Scott he was mad at Trujillo for stealing his weed and pipe. A neighbor told Scott that Travelstead also vandalized Trujillo's vehicles and broke his bedroom window.

Travelstead's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 8 at 9 a.m. He is being held in the Laramie County Detention Center on $3,000 cash bond.

This isn't Travelstead's first brush with the law. He was arrested for aggravated robbery in July of 2015, after authorities say he threatened a clerk at the Family Dollar store on the South Greeley Highway with a screwdriver while demanding cigarettes.
