City of Laramie Athletic Field Temporarily Closed

The City of Laramie Parks and Recreation Department has closed all athletic fields until further notice due to current muddy conditions and potential impacts to the turf,

Due to recent weather and expected inclement weather through the weekend, the turf at all athletic fields is saturated and likely to remain unstable through the weekend.

The use of the fields in their current state could cause long term damage. Moreover, City staff are unable at this time to prepare the fields using equipment without damaging them.

The large dog area at Optimist Dog Park is also closed due to conditions as well. All closures are expected to last through the weekend. An update will be issued when these facilities have re-opened.
