It will be an early announcement of five catagories, with more nominations later in the day on Tuesday September 6th.  The honor of announcing the first nominees will go to The Band Perry and Jake Owen as they appear on Good Morning America.

The announcement is set for the 6:30 AM (Mountain Time) segmentof  GMA

Jake is also set to perform his latest hit, "Barefoot Blue Jean Night." on the show.    Later in the morning, Jerrod Niemann and Thompson Square will announce the remaining finalists during a press conference at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. In addition, the JaneDear Girls will announce the finalists for the 2011 CMA broadcast personality and radio station nominees in four categories (small, medium, large, and major markets), as well as the finalists for the CMA national broadcast personality.

This will be the 45th Annual presentation.  Our friends at CMT will broadcast a “CMT Insider Special Edition: 2011 CMA Awards Nominations,” featuring in-depth coverage of all the nominations, artist interviews, and more, will premiere at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7. The 30-minute special will re-air on Saturday, Sept. 10 and again Sunday, Sept. 11 on CMT.

CMA’s official radio partner, Premiere Radio Network, will carry the Awards and Broadcast Award nominations live to country radio stations across America.

The CMA's have grown to be recognized as one of the most prestigious awards presented in the field.  There's a lot of new, young talent out there looking to make a big splash for themselves, and getting a nomination...or several...will take them a long way along their career paths.

I'll be checking back with everyone to discuss the nominees once they're officially announced.  Stay tuned.
