A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Southeast Wyoming by the National Weather Service for today.

Thanks to hot and dry conditions, plus winds expected to increase to 20-to-30 miles per hour today, this creates an environment in which fires could spread quickly. Outdoor burning in the area is not recommended.

The Red Flag warning is in effect from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. for Fire Weather Zones 301, 303 and 308.

According to the National Weather Service, a Red Flag Warning means that critical Fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme Fire behavior.
