The reconstruction of the intersection of 30th and Grand Avenue began bright and early on Monday.  As you probably noticed, there are detours in effect and The Wyoming Department of Transportation and the City of Laramie remind citizens they should plan for delays, especially during peak drive times.

According to a news release from WYDOT the detour to the south of the intersection between 26th and Garfield has been crowded and temporary, four-way stop signs are in place to ease that congestion.

The department reminds drivers and cyclists that there is also a detour that runs north of the intersection. That route begins at 22nd and Grand avenue on the WEST end and Wister Drive on the EAST end.  Please be advised that the north detour is a little longer however, drivers and cyclists may find their travel times somewhat improved using it.

All drivers and cyclists are reminded that businesses in that area are accessible during construction.

The Department also took the opportunity to thank everyone for their courtesy during the traffic re-routing and reminds everyone taht the project is projected to be complete in mid-June.
