No.  Seriously.  I ran across this little gem of news from our friends at The Boot.  And it's not about the television series that ran from 1974 to 1983.  Nope, this is an homage to the wonderful series of books from Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The project is called "Pa's Fiddle:  America's Music".  The performances were shown on selected PBS stations and featured music from  Rodney Atkins, Randy Travis, Ronnie Milsap, Ashton Shepherd, the Roys, Natalie Grant and Committed.

The performances originated from the renowned Leveless Barn in Nashville last Friday. A CD and DVD of 'Pa's Fiddle: America's Music' will be available in June. It can be pre-ordered here.

As exciting as it's been for me, it's even more exciting to see these excellent musicians get so excited about playing this music.  musical coordinator Dale Cockrell is quoted in Nashville's Daily News Journal

I'm sure that the CD and the DVD will see some reasonalble success.  However, I have to sa that it's got to be a pretty small niche market.  I do enjoy when artists take a chance and use their talents to highlight something a little out of the ordinary.  Good luck to them and the project.
