There's nothing more important than educating young people on the value of the vital business of raising livestock and its impact on life in Wyoming. That's why, the ladies of the Albany County Cowbelles continue the tradition of educating 3rd graders in Albany County.

The year's expo will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, April 18th and 19th at the Hansen Arena.  The theme for this year is Agriculture in My Life. This year's expo will be enjoyed by approximately 300 3rd graders.

We spoke with Margaret Page about the expo.  She told us that educational boxes have already been distributed to the various elementary shools in the county.  Each box contained all kinds of informative items, including a "stress cow", pencils, bookmarks, puzzles and more designed to educate kids about agriculture.

The exhibit will consist of nine "stations" with titles like:

Misquito

Weed and Pest

Bingo - discussing by-products

Stock Trailer

Stream Trailer

Bees

Ruminants

Animal Identification (brands)

Animal Exhibit

There will also be other activities to keep everyone occupied and informed. Margaret wanted us to be sure and thank the sponsors of the event, including the Albany County Cowbelles, The Beef Council, Albany County Stockgrowers, Farm Bureau and First Interstate Bank.

Sounds like it's going to be fun.  And with 300 3rd graders, what's not to like?  For more information, please contact  Margaret Page  at 745-3278.
