Cowboys and Cowgirls Collect 14 All-Conference Honors

The University of Wyoming's track and field teams earned 14 All-Mountain West honors after the conference championships last weekend.

There was plenty of influence from the Cowboy state, as eight of the 14 accolades went to "homegrown" talent.

Evanston native and senior Erin Kirby earned two All-MW honors with a runner-up finish in the 400 meter hurdles. She was also part of the second place 4X400 meter relay squad.

Two other Cowgirls on the relay, senior Audrey West and freshman Kim Robertson, hail from Star Valley and Lovell, respectively.

The other Cowgirl with a Wyoming connection to receive an accolade was Gillette native and sophomore Audra DeStefano, who finished second in the steeplechase.

Rock Springs native and conference champion Rick Faure, who is just a freshman, led the All-MW honors for the Cowboys.

Senior Kyle Sullivan, from Powell, and junior Tyler Anderson, of Lovell, also earned the distinction.

The other honorees were junior McKenzie Brogan, seniors Holly Page and Shreese Daniels, grad student Harry Fisher and sophomore Jordan Charles.

The Mountain West all-conference selection are awarded to the top-three finishers in each event.
