The Wyoming Cowboys will face another top team in the Mountain West on the road Friday night, as they battle the Utah State Aggies in Logan.

Wyoming (1-7, 1-3) enters off a 20-point loss at Boise State last Saturday night.

Utah State (4-3, 3-1) is coming off a 34 loss at San Diego State last Friday night. The week prior, the Aggies blew out Boise, 52-26.

It’s also the second consecutive week the Pokes will face a good defense in the MW.

Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl knows the Aggies defense present another difficult challenge, while he’s also seeing a more dynamic offense.

UW will be without the services of starting Q-B Cam Coffman, who is doubtful to play after an injury in the loss at Boise State. That means the Cowboys will turn to redshirt freshman Nick Smith, who will make his first career start.

Bohl knows the key will be preparation for Smith and making sure he's going through quality reps in practice. He also says Smith has to continue to develop as a passer.

Utah State has won three straight in the series, which included a 20-3 victory last year in Laramie. The last Cowboys win in Logan was back in 2003 (48-21). This will be the 66th meeting in the series, and the Aggies lead it, 37-24, with four ties.

Kick-off on Friday is at 8:15 p.m.

The game will be televised on ESPN2. The radio broadcast will be on Y95 Country (FM 95.1) and start at 7 p.m. Cowboy Talk with Jerrad Anderson will follow.
