University of Wyoming junior wide receiver Tanner Gentry is now up for the most prestigious annual award bestowed upon a collegiate wide out.

Gentry's name was added to the 2015 Biletnikoff Award Watch List. He is now one of 39 candidates up for the award, which is presented to college football's outstanding receiver.

Gentry leads the Mountain West and ranks 15th nationally in receiving yards per game at 109.8. He also ranks 12th in the NCAA in total receiving yards with 439 through the first four games. Gentry has 26 total receptions, an average of 6.5 per game, good for 22nd in the nation.

The junior receiver has had three 100-yard games this season, the first three of his career. His high was 176 in the opener against North Dakota.

In addition, Gentry also is averaging 10.2 yards per punt return this season, which puts him 37th nationally. His 130.2 all-purpose yards per game is second in the MW and 45th in the country.

This 2015 Biletnikoff Award will be announced live by 1991 Heisman Trophy winner and former receiver Desmond Howard on Dec. 10, 2015, on ESPN’s The Home Depot College Awards Show at 5 p.m., M.T., from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Ga.

Former Wyoming Cowboys great Marcus Harris won the award in 1996.
