Kodie Lester will pass her crown to Laurel Austin on January 5th at the 2013 Miss Laramie Jubilee Days Coronation. The "Cowgirl Boots and Country Roots" themed night will feature a social hour, beef dinner, live and silent auction and music from Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band.

The coronation serves as a fundraiser for Jubilee Days and the royalty. The money helps cover traveling expenses, clothing, plus the saddle, crown and buckle. Laurel says her favorite part of being a rodeo queen is the opportunity to travel and meet different people. Many of the friends she has met as Jubilee Days Royalty will be there for her coronation.

In addition to a handful of visiting royalty from the region, Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2012, Kimberly Kuhn, and Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013, Holly Kennedy, will be the emcee's for the night. Kuhn recently finished as fourth runner-up in the 2013 Miss Rodeo America pageant and Kennedy is a former Miss Laramie Jubilee Days.

The festivities will get started at 5:30 p.m. at the Albany County Fairgrounds Activities Building. A $15 donation will get you in the door for dinner. Kids 5-12 are $5. If you just want to come to dance you can get in for $5 after 10 p.m.

Austin graduated from Laramie High School in 2012 and is currently attending the University of Wyoming. She hopes to become a physical therapist, specializing in working with children.
