The Wyoming Cowgirls suffered their first loss of the season to Front Range rival Northern Colorado, 3-1, Tuesday in Cheyenne.

The Cowgirls scored first, but the Bears rallied with three unanswered goals.

Junior forward Laurel Ramer gave UW a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute.

Northern Colorado responded and tied the match in the 18th minute. They took the lead just three minutes later and added another goal after halftime.

The Cowgirls out-shot the Bears 18-12. Ten of those were on goal.

Wyoming falls to 3-1-3 on the season. They return home Friday with their final non-conference match versus Idaho State at 4 p.m.
