Both Ali Forde and Geraldine McCorkell recorded double-doubles to lead the Idaho Vandals past the Wyoming Cowgirls 61-57 Saturday in Idaho.

The Cowgirls rallied from 11 points down at halftime and pulled within two points twice in the final five minutes of the game. The Vandals kept the lead by knocking down 7-of-10 free throws in the final three minutes.

Wyoming (3-3) was led by Marquelle Dent with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Jordan Kelley added another double-double of 14 points and 12 boards. The Cowgirls shot only 31 percent from the floor. They were just 4-of-22 (18%) from deep.

Idaho (7-1) received 19 points and 13 rebounds from Forde and another 11 points and 11 rebounds from McCorkell. The Vandals also shot 31 percent from the field. They went 15-for-20 at the foul line for 75 percent and had a 50-47 edge on the glass. That led to an 11-2 edge in second chance points.

The Cowgirls led 16-15 after the first quarter. Idaho took the lead for good with a 9-0 run late in the second. It gave the Vandals a 35-24 lead at the break.

Wyoming continues their three-game stretch on the road with a midday game at Denver Wednesday. Tip-off is at noon.
