The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team returns to action for their first conference road game against the New Mexico Lobos. The game is set for Wednesday, January 8, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Live stats, audio and video can be found through the women's basketball Gameday Central page located on the www.gowyo.com website.

Wyoming is 10-2 overall and 1-0 in MW action after a 72-64 win over Nevada on Saturday afternoon, while carrying a six-game winning streak. Kayla Woodward is averaging a team high 17.8 points plus 7.1 rebounds, while Fallon Lewis is adding 15.3 points and a team high 9.2 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 13.0 points and Marquelle Dent leads the way with 4.4 assists plus 9.6 points per game.

As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 315-753 (.418) from the field while averaging 41.8 rebounds and 74.2 points per game. The Cowgirls are second in the league in assists, third in field goal and three-point percentage and scoring defense.

New Mexico enters the week with a 5-7 overall mark and 0-1 record in MW play. Last time out, they fell to the Colorado State Rams, 62-50, on Sunday afternoon. They are led by Antiesha Brown who is averaging a team high 13.3 points plus 3.9 rebounds. Khadijah Shumpert is adding a team high 5.9 boards and 9.2 points. They return four starters and seven letterwinners to a team that went 17-14 overall and 8-8 in the MW last year.

This will be 67th meeting between the two schools. UNM leads the series 36-30. The last time the two teams met was March 2, 2013 as the Cowgirls defeated the Lobos, 72-50, in Laramie. They are coached by Yvonne Sanchez who is in her third season with the program.
