There's no doubt that Darius has put together a string of hits in the country field.  And he's pretty happy with his career and life in general.  But, there are many, many fans who remember the outstanding career he had as front man for Hootie and the Blowfish and wonder about at least a reunion.

We'll always be together, Darius told CBSNews.com .  I don't think we'll ever break up totally. We're Hootie & the Blowfish ... We'll make another record and do another tour someday. I don't know when, but it will happen. There's one more in us.

That's good news not just for fans of early alternative, but for anyone who enjoys great music.  Their seminal album Cracked Rear View was THE album of 1995 and eventually had sales of over 10 million by 1999.

In the meantime, Darius is planning another album as a solo country artist.

We'll start recording in January, he revealed. It will be out next year.

When you look at the success he's had on both sides of the genre' "fence", there's not much doubt that he's in a pretty good spot right now.  His 2010 Charleston, SC 1966 was a monster album and contained the number one hits Come Back Song and This.  He's sold nearly 2 million albums as a country talent.  In addition, he has three million single sales under his belt.

For those of you who haven't heard his work with Hootie and the Blowfish, here's a little taste.
