Democrats in six counties are moving their April 9 caucuses to bigger venues that can accommodate a larger turnout than originally expected.

Wyoming Democratic Party Executive Director Aimee Van Cleave says the venues were switched because they are expecting a huge turnout comparable to 2008.

Van Cleave pointed to Utah and Idaho, where an overwhelming number of Democrats went to caucuses.

Delegates chosen during the April 9 caucuses will go the statewide convention in May. They will select 18 people to attend the national convention in July, where Democrats will choose their presidential candidate.

Laramie, Albany and Natrona counties are among those to move their caucuses to larger venues.
