Dierks Bentley – Generous Donation Helps Military Family

I've mad no secret of the fact that I am both a Dierks Bentley fan and a fan of those successful artists who do their best to share with those less fortunate. Dierks Bentley continues wo warrant my respect.

Just yesterday, on an episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show, Dierks surprised a young military family with a staggering donation of $ 50,000.00. The money will aide Sgt. Chad Sparks and his wife during what can only be described as challenging times. Dierks was touched by the fact that the family had resorted to selling their personal property on Craigslist to raise funds.

 Dierks made his feelings pretty clear when he told the couple

We're so honored by your service and sacrifice and all you do.

Sergeant Sparks is getting set for his second deployment to Afghanistan. He's been married for just two years and the couple have a child. Chad Sparks was also wounded during his first deployment.

The gift was received with grateful hugs and tears from the Sgt and Mrs. Sparks. I'm pretty sure the young couple will find a number of ways to spend it.

Dierks presented the couple with an oversized prop check on the set, and then went on to perform what I think is one of his best songs, his current patriotic anthem Home. That song has already helped Dierks take his current CD to the top of the charts.
