Let's just say that I get my potatoes from the "Gem of the Mountains." Those greenies from "Sandstone Soil," always take the best fishing spots. I know I'm home when I'm "At The Big River Flat"

The folks at Expedia Canada decided to make a map showing the literal translations of each state in the U.S. Contrary to popular belief, Wyoming doesn't mean "WOW it's windy here." Just take a look at the North Platte River as it winds across the state, and you might get a hint of the meaning of Wyoming. According to Expedia, Wyoming directly translates to "At the Big River Flat."

It sounds cooler than some states. I'm glad don't live in "Country of the Virgin" (Virginia.) Or we could live in Minnesota which means "Milky Water."
