Let's be quite clear here.  I am an un-abashed fan of Dolly Parton.  I love her singing.  I admire her outrageous, flamboyant style.  I love that she's never strayed from the simple country girl she really is.  Now, some brilliant person came up with the idea to write a book all about her wit and wisdom.

It's called The Quotable Dolly: A Collection of Rich Sayings to Live, Laugh and Love By from the Country Music Legend.  That's a spectacularly long title, but it pretty much covers the subject.   The book is a collection of some of Dolly's classic lines and photos from her career, reflecting a years that pretty much spans a whole evolution of country music.

The book is 80 pages and has some real gems.  One of her sayings from the book I've seen goes somethink like this:  “People always ask me, ‘What do you want people to say about you one hundred years from now?’ I want them to say, ‘Dang, don't she look good for her age?’  Ha!  That's funny, right there.

Another reason I'm an absolute fan of the book is that part of the sales will benefit Dolly's charity, The Imagination Library.

Why not check it out?  I highly recommend both Dolly Parton and her wit.

The Quotable Dolly is available at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville and online outlets such as Amazon..
