East Allen Lake Public Access Area near Medicine Bow is once again open to the public.

The access area was closed in early Marchdue to downed power lines and poles. The poles had been damaged by the frost/freeze cycle of the lake and a combination of wind that forced the poles out of the ground. The lake had filled to the point that the poles were in the water.According to a Wyoming Game and Fish release, crews from Carbon Power & Light, Inc. worked to repair and relocate the poles and the area is once again safe for public use. The closure signs have been removed from the north and south access roads.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department would like to thank Carbon Power & Light, Inc., the Bureau of Land Management, Anadarko Land Corporation, and area landowners for their cooperation during the closure.
