The 22nd Annual Hospice of Laramie Wine Gala and Taste of Laramie will feature many on the staple events the fundraiser has become known for, but the silent auction will have a much more modern touch. For the first time ever, an electronic bid system will be used.

Executive Director Terri Longhurst says every table will be equipped with a tablet that can be used for bidding or people can use their smartphones to participate in the silent auction. Longhurst claims that the electronic bidding process will allow bidders to keep a closer eye on items they are interested in, without having to leave their table. It will also make the checkout process smoother.

As for the auction items, they include a weekend for four at Fish on Ranch, an electric guitar and amp, a Ringo Starr autographed drum head, a Paul McCartney autographed picture, original artwork from local artists, jewelry and more. There will also be a live raffle to a one-of-a-kind Fat Tire cruiser bike.

Local food vendors will provide the cuisine for the evening. Albertson’s, Altitude Chophouse & Brewery, Big Hollow Food Coop, Caterings of Laramie, Hilton Garden Inn, Luciano’s, Mizu Sushi, Subway, Sweet Melissa’s, The Cav at Fort Sanders and Turtle Rock Cafe will all be taking part in Taste of Laramie. There will also be wine coupons for people to pick up that will give them a 10 percent discount at Northridge Discount Liquor. When that coupon is used, Northridge will match the 10 percent discount and donate it back to Hospice of Laramie.

The Hospice of Laramie Wine Gala and Tast of Laramie will be on Friday, August 31st at the Hilton Garden Inn. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. There are still some tickets available for $50. Longhurst recommends calling Hospice of Laramie at (307)745-9254 to get tickets. All proceeds will go to Hospice of Laramie, meaning the money raised will stay in Albany County to go toward current patient care.
