The King has been gone lo these 35 years. But his popularity is still pretty much un-dimmed. In fact, his legacy is still so popular, that organizers are arranging a tour of the Holy Land featuring gospel groups that performed with him in his heyday.

The Associated Press is reporting that a sight-seeing tour offered by Elvis Presley Enterprises (yes, there really is such and entity) will be kicking off on Satruday, May 12th and conclude on the 21st.

It's called the Elvis Presley  Holy Land Tour and will take guests to some of the most important places in Christendom, including Jerusalem, The Dead Sea, The Western Wall of the temple and The Sea of Galilee.

On a totally different track, the tour will include the famous Elvis Inn Restaurant in Ghosh.  But how is Elvis tied in other than that?  Well, during his career, Elvis recorded a number of Gospel hits that made quite a splash.  He was accompanied on those hits by gospel groups like The Imperials and J.D. Sumner and the Stamps.  Those groups will be on the tours as well.

If you or any of your friends would like to learn more about this truly unique tour, you can get all the details here.

So, what do you think?  Is this a lovely and important tribute to gospel?  Or, does it kind of border on the tacky?  Let us know your feedback here.
