The Emergency Management System will conduct an emergency siren test on March 21, at 10 a.m.

The test will run for approximately 1 minute simultaneously at eight locations around the county. Emergency Management Coordinator, Aimee Binning explains the rational for conducting the siren test: Aimee Binning on Siren Testing

Binning also stresses to residents that this is only a test, not a real emergency. If a real emergency were to occur, the sirens would last for 180 seconds and there would be concurrent messages on the radio and television stations notifying the public of the emergency and instructions on what to do.
