It's been an exceptionally nice year so far for Eric Church.  It took a while, but his latest single, Drink in My Hand has hit the tops of the Billboard charts finally.  And now, he's received the exciting news that his Album Chief and his video for Homeboy have been nominated for special recognition. The ablum, Chief, contains both his current hit and the single that has received a video nomination from The Academy of Country Music.

Chief  has been nominated for Album of the Year for 2011.  And the video for his soul-searching single, Homeboy is up for video of the year.

It's quite an accomplishment for the Sinners Like Me singer.  And in this day and age, it's nice that artists of all kinds can have more than one bite at the apple, so to speak.  Eric's Homeboy is a very well written song in its own right.  And the video is as powerful as the lyrics.

The awards will be broadcat live on CBS.  They'll be broadcast on Sunday, April 1st at 6 PM Mountain Time.  Here's hoping it's a great April Fool's Day for Eric.

By the way, here's the nominated video.  See if you agree with the nomination.
