It's going on four years now since Faith Hill has released a new single.  The last one from her label was Red Umbrella back in 2007.  Red Umbrella had a modicum of success; it reached as high as number 28 on Billboard's country singles chart.

The plan is for Faith to perform her newest single, Come Home when she appears on the CMA's in November.  We reported earlier that Faith was saying as far back as February that she would be heading to the studios to work on new material.  Apparently she was right on the money because one of the more anticipated albums of the year is just around the corner.

Virtually nothing, and I do mean nothing is known about the material included in the album.  Even the theme of the single is being kept under wraps.  That's a brilliant marketing strategy, of course.  Building up the buszz and the anticipation can only add to the success of the venture.

We in country radio are watching this one closely.  It would be nice to have the opportunity to hear and play some more Faith Hill material.  She was such a mega-force in the industry.  She and Shania pretty much ruled the female side of the genre for a number of years.  I personally can't wait the hear the tune.

The CMA Awards are set to be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.  Besides Hill, other performers for the night include Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Paisley, Jason Aldean, and Keith Urban.
