Now it's just a matter of waiting for the final cut to be released! The Laramie Police Department finished filming on their answer to Cheyenne PD's Lip Sync Challenge this weekend. Laramie Filmmaker, Nid Collins of French Creek Films, said that he was excited to take on the challenge of putting together a worthy video for the folks in blue.

"As soon as I found out Laramie had been challenged, I messaged the department and let them know I would be interested in doing it," Collins said. "And I also volunteer at the Laramie Animal Shelter making cat videos."

"The officers that volunteered their free time to do this were all willing and organized, but one of the reasons it took so long is that I had a camping trip and another trip planned, so they were waiting for me. I'm taking the blame, it was totally my fault that it took so long."

Collins says when he first heard the song Champion by Carrie Underwood and Ludacris, he knew it was the perfect song for the project. "This is the song. It's such a positive, uplifting, non-divisive message, it's a message for all of the people of Laramie, Albany County, Wyoming, and beyond."

When asked whether this video will outdo the Cheyenne Police Department's Rawhide rendition, Collins laughed and said, "With all due respect to the officers in Cheyenne, which I'm very grateful for everything they do, but yes, we will absolutely thrash them."

The video is currently in editing and is expected to release on the Laramie Police Department Facebook page as early as Friday, August 10.
