BREAKING: Fire at Wade's Mobile Manor [UPDATE]

UPDATE: (6:30 p.m.) The evacuation order has been lifted and those displaced by the Wade Trailer Park fire can return to their homes. Laramie Fire Department No.1 Shift Commander Kevin Lam said during a meeting at the Albany County Fairgrounds that the investigation into the fire is ongoing and a cause has not yet been determined.

Lam said crews are at the scene of the fire doing overhaul - looking for hot spots - with heavy equipment. Lam said the wind driven fire spread to nearby grassland and about four or five acres of grassland was burned as well.

Undersheriff Josh Debree said that at last count, nine buildings were destroyed and one was damaged, a number he said is subject to change.

A shelter has been established at the Albany County Fairgrounds for those whose homes have been destroyed or damaged. Those who want to donate to the fire victims can do so through Interfaith Good Samaritan.

UPDATE: (12:42 p.m.) Fire personnel have been able to bring most of the fire under control and are continuing fire suppression and overhaul efforts, according to a City of Laramie Fire Department release.

According to the release, crews from the Laramie Fire Department and Albany County Fire District No.1 were dispatched to Wade’s Trailer Court at 11 a.m. High winds in the area quickly spread the fire throughout the area and multiple structures caught fire. The winds also caused spot fires.

The LFD as well as ACFD No. 1 as well as the United States Forest Service, Albany County Emergency Management Agency, Albany County Fire Warden’s Office, Laramie Parks Department, and Laramie Street department also offered resources in this situation.

A shelter for displaced people and animals is being set up at the Albany County Fair Grounds. Arrangements are being made for anyone with children in school who live in the area of evacuation to transport them to the fairgrounds. Notifications of times to re-enter the area will be made by Emergency Management and are expected to take at least four to five more hours.

Multiple fire crews are battling a fire at Wade's Mobile Manor in on Wyoming Highway 230 in West Laramie.

According to the Laramie Police Department, an evacuation is in place for residents of the mobile park. Shelter for those residents is available at the Albany County Fairgrounds. The Laramie Police Department and Albany County Sheriff's Office, along with the Wyoming Highway Patrol, are helping with the evacuation.

The Laramie Fire Department says they do not yet know when the fire started or how many structures are affected at this point. Strong winds are driving the flames.

Good Interfaith Samaritan Pantry Manager Gary Faulkner said Good Interfaith Samaritan is currently collecting items for the fire victims, such as food and monetary donations.
