Are you planning to attend any of the Cheyenne Frontier Days' Parades?

If you work up an appetite while watching the horses, carriages and bands march through downtown Cheyenne, stop by the First United Methodist Church at 108 East 18th Street for a reasonably priced lunch.

The red sandstone church, on the corner of Central Ave. and 18th St., is on the parade route as it jogs east for a block before turning south toward Lincolnway. After each parade, they'll be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, sloppy joes, coleslaw and their famous home-made pies. (My mom used to bake pies every year for the lunches)

The Cheyenne Frontier Days parades start a half hour earlier this year, at 9 a.m. from the Wyoming State Capitol steps at 24th Street and Capitol Avenue. Hopefully this will give people more time to hang out downtown and still make it to the rodeo and carnival in Frontier Park.

Parades roll through downtown Cheyenne on Saturday, July 19, Tuesday, July 22, Thursday, July 24, and Saturday, July 26.
