On his massive, multi-year World Tour, Garth Brooks has been piling up a nice chunk of change. According to a new Forbes list, the artist briefly known as Chris Gaines is this year's highest-earning artist in all of country music.

Forbes recently released a list of the top-earning country artists, and the names at the top of the magazine's ranking likely won’t surprise you: Kenny Chesney, who earns big bucks starring in ads for Corona beer and Costa sunglasses, ranked second behind Brooks, with a net worth of $56 million. Luke Bryan came in not far behind at No. 3, earning $53 million, and Toby Keith and Jason Aldean landed at No. 4 ($47.5 million) and No. 5 ($36.5 million), respectively. Shania Twain, the highest-paid woman in country music, earned the No. 7 spot, having brought in $27.5 million.

Earlier in 2016, Forbes shared a list of the entertainment industry's highest-earning celebrities; unsurprisingly, you'll find these same artists on that list -- but much lower down in the rankings. He may be the second-richest artist in country music, but Chesney only clocked in at No. 26 on the overall list. Brooks, meanwhile, was No. 15. Perhaps not surprisingly, the overall list is topped by country expat Taylor Swift.

According to Forbes, their rankings are calculated by tabulating record sales data provided by Nielsen, touring numbers from Pollstar and “independent research on non-musical business ventures.” If you’re feeling a little broke compared to Chesney, Aldean and company, just remember: Their listed net worths do not include payouts for agents, managers and lawyers.
