To celebrate “Youth Art Month” in March, the University of Wyoming Art Museum is offering free Saturday classes for children ages 4-11. Classes are scheduled March 7, 14 and 28 from 1-3 p.m.

Each Saturday, participants will explore new ideas and creative processes as well as making art. Parents of students 5 years old and under are asked to stay with their children for the duration of the class. Students should wear art-making clothes.

There is no fee for classes, but pre-registration is requested.

In addition to the Saturday classes, the UW Art Museum will host a “Spring Break Art Camp” March 16-20 from 1-4:45 p.m. for students ages 6-10. Cost is $60 for the week or $15 per day for each student. Pre-registration is requested, and scholarships are available.

Students will explore art exhibited in the museum and use it as inspiration for their own pieces of work. Participants also will be exposed to different mediums, such as sculpture, painting, collage and different types of writing styles.
