With the 2014 reconstruction of Grand Avenue from 15th to 21st Street, Laramie residents can look forward to improved traffic flow and increased safety for all, including pedestrians and cyclists.

All area businesses will remain open during construction but road closures will significantly impact travel in the work area. Sections of Grand Ave will close from March through the project completion in late August. The detour will be signed as Sheridan Street between 15th and 21st.

WYDOT invites you to join us in discussion of impact this project will have to area residents and businesses.

The open house meeting is October 2. The location is the Senate Chambers on the second floor of the UW Student Union. The time is 5 pm to 7 pm.

This is a drop-in style event and you are urged to attend any time within the scheduled hours. Parking is free on campus after 5 pm. For more information please contact WYDOT resident engineer, Steve Cook at 745-2115. Or email:
steve.cook@wyo.gov

Other project improvements include widening Grand Ave on the north side. Landscaped median islands will be installed through the intersections at 16th, 18th, 19th, and 20th streets, restricting left turns in these locations.

Pedestrian crossings will be installed on 19th Street, making signalized crossings available every two blocks between 15th and 21st Streets.

ADA access will be brought up to modern standards the length of the project and the City of Laramie will replace two waterlines beneath the roadway.
