Guest Amy Frost Baumgarten and the Summit Chamber Players will perform as part of the University of Wyoming Department of Music’s Faculty Recital Series at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, in the UW Fine Arts concert hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program, “Schubert’s Glorious Cello Quintet and Dover Beach,” will feature the UW Summit Chamber Players along with guest Baumgarten, principal cellist of the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra and the Washington National Opera Orchestra.

She has performed chamber recitals at venues including the Phillips Collection, the Kennedy Center, the Yale Center for British Art, San Francisco Symphony's Chamber Music Sundaes and the University of California at Berkeley Faculty Series.

A frequent guest artist with the Colorado Chamber Players, she also has performed with the Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra and toured with the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and has performed as a solo artist throughout the United States.

The Summit Chamber Players, composed of UW Department of Music faculty members, features violinists John Fadial and Sherry Sinift, violist James Przygocki and cellist Beth Vanderborgh. The quartet will present a wide range of repertoire from Mozart to contemporary composers.

The quartet has been featured on chamber music series throughout the Western region, including recitals at the Black Hills Chamber Music Society, the Casper Chamber Music Society, the Lander Community Concerts Association and the Wheatland Chamber Music Series.

The Summit Chamber Players seeks to engage young string players though performances, workshops and master classes.
