Both of Gymboree's stores in Wyoming are set to close as the San Francisco-based clothing retailer restructures, having filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month.

The Casper and Cheyenne stores, in the Eastridge and Frontier Malls, respectively, are among 350 stores Gymboree plans to close. Closing sales are scheduled to start on Tuesday, according to the corporation's website.

"Right-sizing our store footprint is a central part of our efforts to ensure Gymboree emerges from this restructuring process as a stronger and more competitive organization, with greater financial flexibility to invest in our future," Daniel Griesemer, president and CEO of Gymboree, said in a statement.

On June 11, the corporation signed a restructuring support agreement with a majority of its term loan lenders, securing stakeholder support for a financial restructuring and recapitalization facilitated by Chapter 11 bankruptcy filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The Gymboree Corporation operated a total of 1,281 stores In the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico as of April 29. Those locations include Janie and Jack stores as well as Crazy 8 shops.

With the closures, the corporation will focus its resources on locations with the greatest revenue potential, in an effort to increase profits.

"This was a difficult decision to make, but we are confident that it is in the best long-term interest of our Company, our customers and our broader employee base," Griesemer said in the statement.
