If you've ever read the Harry Potter books, then you know that the famous Butterbeer beverage in the universe is mildly alcoholic. (And yes, children still drink it.) When you visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, however, their butterbeer is more akin to rootbeer, without any alcoholic properties. If you're an enterprising Harry Potter fan like I am, you can find recipes online to make a version of alcoholic butterbeer with cream soda, vanilla vodka. and butterscotch liquor. But it's just not the same, right?

So if you've ever wanted to taste what real Butterbeer tastes like, you might have the opportunity next month. A Harry Potter Beer Festival will be going through several cities in the U.S. during the month, including two stops in the Mile High City just to the south of us.

Muggles and Wizards alike will get unlimited samples of over twenty different kinds of ales, including pumkin, holiday-themed, and of course, the iconic Butterbeer. For the more daring souls, you could venture into Snape's Lair of Secret Cider Potions.

The festival stops in Denver on February 9th and February 23rd, so you'll have two opportunities to get tipsy like Winky the house elf. But hurry! Some of the events have already sold out!
