Last week's spring snowstorm brought around 20 inches of snow to the Laramie area according to National Weather Service reports.

It created plenty of travel headaches, led to early dismissal within the Albany County public schools and the University of Wyoming, plus many more closures, cancellations and postponements.

That type of spring snowstorm isn't necessarily atypical for our area.

Last Friday DayWeather Inc. chief meteorologist Don Day joined us during our morning show, 'Laramie Live on KOWB,' to explain what happened and why the conditions were just right for so much snow.

One weather station southeast of Laramie reported over 26 inches, as of last Friday night.

Even after the storm cleared, the Gem City still received another shot of snow last night, as a different system clipped the area.
