CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The National Weather Service has posted a high wind warning for most of Wyoming.

The Weather Service says winds gusting up to 60 to 75 mph are possible for many areas except the extreme western part of the state where snow is expected.

It says there could be gusts of up to 80 mph in remote areas along Interstates 80 and 25 and around 90 mph in some mountain areas.

The high winds were expected to develop Thursday and last into Friday.

Cities in the warning are include Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Rock Springs, Rawlins, Gillette, Sheridan, Riverton, Cody, Wheatland and Lander.

Meantime, winter storm warnings are posted for the Jackson area in northwest Wyoming and the south-central mountains.
