I-80 Westbound Between Laramie, Elk Mountain Closed Due to Crash [UPDATE]

UPDATE: The westbound lane of I-80  is now open, a half hour ahead of the estimated opening time.

The westbound lane of I-80 between Laramie and Elk Mountain is closed due to multiple crashes.

Lt. Michael Simmons of the Wyoming Highway Patrol says multiple crashes occurred near mile post 293, about 17 miles west of Laramie.

Simmons said three separate crashes involving a total of seven semi trucks occurred in the immediate vicinity of mile post 293.

Simmons estimates the lane will be opened by 12:15 p.m. today. Slick road conditions may have been a contributing factor.
