The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking information on a poaching case involving the shooting of a trophy mule deer buck southwest of Medicine Bow.

Elk Mountain Game Warden Ryan Kenneda reported that the trophy 6x7 buck was discovered shot on the eastern side of the Hi-Allen Ranch on Oct. 4.

The buck was shot with a rifle on Saturday after being spotted alive by a ranch guest earlier that morning.  No meat was taken from the carcass and the antlers were left intact.

“This was an once-in-a-lifetime buck and would have been a great harvest for a legal hunter,” Kenneda said.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call the Stop Poaching Tip Line at 1-877-WGFD-TIP (1-877-943-3847). Tips may also be reported online at http://wgfd.wyo.gov. Informants can choose to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward for information leading to an arrest.
