J Shogren CD Release Show at Gryphon Theatre [PHOTOS]

J Shogren had a CD release show at the Gryphon Theatre on Friday night that served as a fundraiser for the Albany County Theatre. Of course if you saw ACT's production of "Christmas Thieves," you may have recognized the Shanghai'd & Shipwrecked as the Flyggapojkerna Family Funtime Orkester.

The Orkester wasn't the only familiar part of the night. Local music lovers were treated to Flatbed Love Truck opening the show between a couple of previews of ACT's next production, "An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein."

But J was who everyone was waiting for, and his acoustic driven Americana did not disappoint. The band is familiar enough with each other to let themselves go during shows while seemingly finding new paths through songs they've played hundreds of times. It's an enjoyable ride and one you don't want to miss out on if you have the chance.
