Keith Urban has been pretty open recently about his strong desire to focus on his music career. And while the award-winning country star is working hard to put out his next album, he recently showed his appreciation for fellow country star Miranda Lambert by covering one of her songs. On Tuesday night in Niagra Falls, the country crooner showed off his take of Lambert’s new single ‘The Fastest Girl in Town’ during his concert.

Since the hit song is written from the perspective of a woman, Urban had to change up the lyrics just a little bit, singing instead, “Cause I’m running with the fastest girl in town / Ain’t I baby / I like ‘em crazy” for the chorus.

It’s obvious that the ‘You Gonna Fly’ hitmaker felt at ease performing the song — even though it’s not one of his own, and sung by a spicy lady. On the heels of hosting a season of the Australian version of ‘The Voice,’ Urban has been itching to get back on the saddle and play music. It’s obvious from his gig in Niagra Falls this week that he’s ecstatic to have his guitar back in hand.

Although, wanting to focus on music didn’t stop the country star from accepting a tempting offer to judge the upcoming season of ‘American Idol.’ Urban will be representing country music by taking a seat at the judge’s panel this fall, and playing an integral role on the popular reality show. And hey, at least he’ll be in the States so he can pop into the studio — our out on tour — at a moment’s notice.

The ‘For You’ hitmaker promises that with his next album, he’ll deliver a sound that’s unlike anything he’s ever done before.
